Google User Data Accessed

When you sign in using Google through our authentication provider (Clerk), we access the following Google user data:

• Email Address: Your Google email address for account identification and communication
• Profile Information: Your name and profile picture from your Google account
• Basic Account Info: Unique Google user identifier for authentication purposes

How We Use Google Data: The Google user data we access is used solely for:

• Creating and maintaining your Locate Me account
• Authenticating your identity when you sign in
• Displaying your name and profile picture to team members within organizations you join
• Sending you service-related communications (if you opt in)

We do not access any other Google services or data beyond the basic profile information listed above. We do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, or any other Google services. Your Google data is stored securely and is never sold to third parties or used for advertising purposes.

User Settings & Preferences

• Location Visibility: Your choice to show or hide your location
• Traveling Status: Whether you've marked yourself as traveling
• Status Message: Optional custom message you choose to display
• Theme Preference: Your light/dark mode selection

Storage Infrastructure

• Database: Your data is stored in a secure Neon Postgres database
• Authentication: Account management handled by Clerk (see Clerk's privacy policy)
• Encryption: Data transmitted using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS)

• No Exact Coordinates: We never store your precise location, only approximated coordinates
• Grid Rounding: All locations are rounded to a 0.5° grid (~55km radius)
• Access Controls: Your location is only visible to members of your organizations
